Life can be overwhelming, but in a good way.

So.many.things have been going on in my life. Most of them are actually good, maybe even great. Sometimes life gets overwhelming, but in a good way. We choose to enjoy the joys of life and forget about the rest, Or maybe this only happens to me?

Good stuff that’s been going on in my life:

  • Changed jobs 9 months ago. No regrets.
  • We moved 13 months ago. Best.desicion.ever! (we moved from a 6osqm flat to a 180sqm house)
  • We adopted the sweetest cat ever 7 month ago: Muffin.
  • A month ago I decided to purge my belongings getting rid of 60% of my belongings. (this book helped me, it’s amazing and wonderful, got the kindle version)
  • In July I spent the best 4 days at an amazing 24h ono-stop beach music festival with my girlfriends. It was amazing.
  • We have three adorable kitties in “foster-care”. Hope we can find a good family for them. 🙂 I’ll share their horrifying story later.
  • I’ve had my Nutribullet (get it here) for about a week and I seriously don’t know how I’ve lived this long without one.
  • Only 5 days until we go on holiday to Istanbul. YAY!

And these are a few just out of the top of my head!

Although it’s been a while I must say I miss blogging. I’m going to come back to it slowly as I truly love having the opportunity to write an online diary to keep track of the things I liked enough to photograph & write about. Maybe I might even inspire someone.
Now that I’m back on my feet I feel I can conquer the world, let me take you on this journey with me! 🙂

Back to school series: Pineapples and crop tops (Outfit) - Back to school series: Pineapples and crop tops (Outfit)Welcome to my BTS series!! Since it’s not very long until many of you go back to school I thought I’d create a series of posts styling outfits which are trendy yet school/uni appropriate. Today I chose a crop top. It’s taken a whie for this trend to sink into me, but now I love it. The key to wearing a crop top without looking trashy is to choose high waisted bottoms. Whether it’s a skirt, trousers or shorts, get them so they reach your belly button. You’ll alway look perfect. This combo is also great as it suits all body types! Crop tops + high waisted bottoms: win-win! - Back to school series: Pineapples and crop tops (Outfit) - Back to school series: Pineapples and crop tops (Outfit)Wearing comfy sandals is totally a must. These black strappy ones I’m wearing are by Vagabond and trust me.. they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Invest in a good pair of shoes, you’re goind to spend hours in them! - Back to school series: Pineapples and crop tops (Outfit) - Back to school series: Pineapples and crop tops (Outfit) What are your thoughts on crop tops… yay or nay?I’m so happy to be back blogging, see you’ll soon!

Tell us a bit about yourself!
I’ve always been in love with anything and everything involving food since I was a little girl. From watching Food Network everyday after school (what 12 year old does that??) to sneaking raw eggs into my room so I could try and whip egg whites like they did on t.v., I couldn’t get enough. So naturally, after a few years of college I enrolled and then graduated from the California School of Culinary Arts, back in 2005 with a Le Cordon Bleu degree. I have since acquired an even more extreme obsession with desserts, especially cupcakes! That’s exactly what inspired this blog. I wanted a place to be able to come (even if virtually) and sit and chat with you all (my friends) about life, faith, hobbies, loves, and of course DESSERT! So grab a cup of tea and a sunny spot in the room, and let’s have a chat.

What makes you happy?
“Warm, sunny days. The smell of coffee. A house full of loved ones. Freshly painted nails. Good, good food. Dating my husband. Jesus Christ. Laughing so hard you can’t breathe. The Twilight Saga….yeah… My friends. Cake. Room temperature always. Chai tea. Cupcakes. Desserts. Sugar in general.”

I went to and graduated culinary school, with high honors. Then I worked for 4+ years in the restaurant scene..even cooking for some celebrities 😀

When I’m sad or scared, I read Harry Potter because it makes me feel warm and cozy reminding me of when I read the books again and again when I was younger and waited excitedly for my letter from Hogwarts to arrive 🙂

Hi, I’m Nicole, a full-time Ph.D. student with a love for new adventures! I started my blog as a way to encourage myself to step out of my comfort zone and document my attempts at finding life’s hidden treasures…. and as a way to distract myself from my studies. On my blog you’ll find my tromp towards mastering gardening, cooking, crafting and being a 25 year old gal in California.

What makes you happy?
My happy list includes: camping and hiking, hedgehogs, wine, trying new foods and recipes, and learning more about photography and photo-editing. More than anything, I love to travel! Since I was a college junior, I’ve made sure to use my passport at least once a year. The places that make me the happiest are New Zealand and Japan. Oh, and my bed after a long day is pretty great too.

Every 4 years when the Olympics roll around, I have mixed emotions of happiness and a little bit of sadness. I was a competitive gymnast for most of my life and always dreamed of making the Olympic team one day. Although that dream didn’t become a reality, I’m pretty proud of the fact that I can still flip around at 25!

My blog is mostly about fashion and outfit and a little bit about me and my life. Its where recreate looks I find on Pinterest as well as “remix” pieces a few different ways to get the most wear. It’s my little place on the internet to be goofy and silly as well as a everyday fashionista (if there is such a thing!)

What makes you happy?
I love to be happy and try to share that happiness with my readers, some things that make my eye twinkle are massive sales, my cat The Moshi (yes, her name is actually “The Moshi”), my boyf. even though he is thousands of miles away, and finally the friendships I make with fellow blogettes.

I used to want to be a tattoo artist, I love to draw and I life people so I thought that it would be the perfect job for me… then those TLC shows came on and I saw that most people get stupid tattoos and I didnt want to “sacrifice my art” like that… now I want to be a special needs teacher – I think thats better anyway!
